Wonolo
Before I became a Wonoloer. I was a full-time rideshare driver for 6 years. I primarily drove in San Francisco and did really well for myself. At the beginning of 2020, I told myself that this was going to be the last year of ridesharing for me. After Covid-19 hit, ridesharing was dramatically less used. Right around that time, I was giving a ride to someone and they told me about Wonolo. I checked it out and have been using the app ever since.
Wonolo jobs definitely keep me busy. There are numerous amounts of opportunities in many different categories of work. I’ve stuck with delivery since that’s my sweet spot. Once you get in with a few companies and show your work ethic, they always want you back! I usually have jobs booked out 2 weeks in advance. It would probably be further out, but I try to include some flexibility in my work schedule. It’s comforting to know that even during this pandemic, I have the opportunity to make an income and help others in the community as an essential worker.
Wonolo is an extension of my philosophy, which is to always be flexible. I have a background in sales and marketing and I love the autonomy gig work. Currently, I’m studying to be in more of the digital marketing world as an entrepreneur. The 9-5 isn’t for me.
If you’re just starting to look into Wonolo, give it a try! Be patient with yourself. Be patient in finding jobs. You have to feel out different opportunities, and when you find something that clicks, stick with it.
Personally, I didn’t get many job opportunities right away, but I stuck with it and built up my credibility. Now I get asked by Requestors to come back to work all the time. I sometimes have to turn down work! My advice is to go in with the right attitude and make the best out of the situation. Remember that you write your own destiny. We’re never in a permanent situation. We’re always growing.
