Wonolo

Please introduce yourself.

Hello, my name is Josh Ector and I am the Southwest Market Manager here at Wonolo. Currently, I reside in Houston, Texas.  My job is to make sure our clients’ needs are met on a daily basis while also overseeing the health and performance of our targeted markets. This is obtained through cross-collaboration with multiple teams at Wonolo and strong partnerships with our local customers. With all of this, we are able to set up and build a healthy working environment for our Wonolers.

What events in your life have brought you to your current role today?

I’m originally from chilly, but beautiful upstate New York where I graduated from Daemen College. I majored in Business Marketing and Management, with no idea what I wanted to do after graduating. I’ve worked in various roles from insurance sales, a rental car branch manager, and online digital advertisement. In 2018, I joined Wonolo as a Market Launcher working out of Nashville covering cities like Atlanta, Miami, and Grand Rapids. Last year I had the privilege of moving to Arizona and launching our Phoenix market. Recently, I moved to Texas, to launch our South Texas Markets and continued expansion and coverage of Arizona and Nevada. I’m extremely excited to continue to build new relationships throughout the U.S. and spread the word of Wonolo.

When you have to make a difficult decision, what do you lean on?

Whenever I have to make a tough decision I take a few different steps. First, I look at the facts and what I know about the situation. From there I use my knowledge of the situation and my gut instinct on what I believe is best and put forth an action plan. I share my plan of action with a peer whom I value their input and get their stance on the subject. Thankfully at Wonolo, I have an abundance of peers to rely on, however, sometimes difficult decisions have to be made fast. In certain cases, I must take calculated risks and may end up “asking for forgiveness”. What I enjoy about having to make difficult choices is the support network I have at Wonolo that helps ensure I am set up for success.

What is one life advice you can give to anyone?

Oh boy, I always feel it’s easier to give life advice than to actually apply it. The advice I would give someone is something my mentor at Wonolo taught me. “Be 1% better every day”. At first, this was just a phrase I would repeat, but when I actually took the time to apply it to my lifestyle I learned what it really meant to me. What I love about this advice is that it allows you to start each day as a new opportunity to better yourself. Everyone loves to win, and we all want to be the best, but we can’t achieve that overnight. Bettering ourselves each day in whatever capacity we deem the most important, allows us to be the best version of ourselves.

If you really knew me, you would know that…

Most know that I’m super quiet and very reserved. Kidding, who am I trying to fool! Since grade school, I’ve been referred to as what’s known as a social butterfly. I love meeting new people, sharing stories, and making new connections. At the same time, I can also be completely content staying in and playing video games channeling my inner 12-year-old self. Lastly, if you really know me, then I’ve told you this at least once. Life is short, be happy, have fun, chase your dreams!
