We interviewed RaShawn T. to find about more about her experience working on Wonolo in Chicago.
Tell us about yourself:
My name is RaShawn and I’ve been a Wonoloer in Chicago since February 2018. I have a degree in Interior, Fashion, and Design. I’ve worked in the corporate world for the last 20 years and have recently stepped out of that world to work for myself! Right now I’m independently contracting through Wonolo and I enjoy doing it.
How did you hear about Wonolo?
I heard about Wonolo about a year ago from a work colleague from another job. I hadn’t really heard too much about it, but when another colleague told me about Wonolo, I knew I had to check it out! I downloaded the app and the rest was history.
The process to sign up was very simple. After downloading and onboarding via the app — the very next day I was sent a Wonolo job. I thought to myself “Wow that was quick”! I accepted the job, worked it and really enjoyed it. I thought, “Is it really that easy? I’ve got to keep going..”, and I did just that, I kept going and going. Everything about this was right for me: the people, the type of work and the simplicity.
What your first Wonolo job?
My first job assignment was to design flower gift baskets and delivering Valentine’s Day orders. With my degree in design, I really thrived in this environment, it was definitely exciting! Everyone there was also really nice which is always appreciated. The best part though was delivering the flower gift baskets and witnessing the expressions on the customer’s faces. Seeing the surprised looks on their faces and the joy it brought was very rewarding.
Do you have any advice for the Wonoloer Community?
My advice for other Wonoloers is to keep a positive attitude and remain professional. Always be there on time and take instructions from the Requestor to do your job to the best of your ability. Finally, make it fun. Whatever the job is, just have fun!
