Wonolo

Let’s meet Kendal!

My name is Kendall. I’m on the Sales Team at Wonolo, I’ve been with Wonolo a little over 3 and a half years and I live in Denver.

What events in your life have brought you to your current role today?

So I used to live in Nashville, Tennessee and one of my best friends actually invited me to a happy hour to meet some people that were working at Wonolo. Just to see how I liked it. Get to know them a little bit more, really, not even about work at all. I even asked if I needed to bring a resume and she said no, it’s very relaxed, just to get to know everybody. So I went to the happy hour, got to know everyone, everyone was so, so nice and I wasn’t even looking for a job actually, at the time and you know, it was just followed up with and asked if I would be interested in applying for a role with Wonolo. So of course I did and yeah, the rest is history. Now, like I mentioned, I live in Denver, Wonolo was really flexible when I was planning on moving. I did used to work in the Nashville office when I started with Wonolo, so very, very lucky that I went to the happy hour that day.

What was the first thing that caught your eye about Wonolo? What made you decide to join?

So the first thing that caught my eye about Wonolo was at the happy hour where I was very fortunate, where I actually got to meet people in person. Almost four years ago now. But honestly just that everybody was really just interested in getting to know everyone that was there on a personal level and just chatting with them and of course talking about Wonolo, but really just because everybody was so, so friendly when you were getting to know them and just really wanted meaningful conversations and just getting to know you. That’s what really drew me in and really made me feel like it was a completely different process than any other job I had ever even been interested in taking or any other company I’ve been interested in, just getting to know everybody and how everyone that already was working together seemed genuinely very comfortable, very happy working with each other and really felt like they knew each other on a really personal level outside of work, which is really what what really drew me in to begin with.

What is one of your favorite memories at Wonolo?

One of my favorite memories at Wonolo it’s very, very hard because I am fortunate enough to have been here for a while. So I’ve made a lot of memories with a lot of people over the years, but I would have to go with probably one of my newer favorite memories, which was at Camp Wonolo in California when Jordan (Director of Sales) and I got up to do karaoke in front of everyone. It was really, really fun and I’m glad that he pulled me into it because I probably wouldn’t have thrown my name in the hat myself. So definitely a very, very good memory.

Please finish this sentence: if you really knew me, you would know that ______ .

If you really knew me, you would know that I actually really, really value my alone time and just sitting quietly and, you know reading a book or just cooking by myself. Just really, really value my alone time.
